Blerg,
I've been looking through websites after websites for some management software for user databases and the such in the fashion of a company style. A lot of these software companies put out these large ad campaigns of buy our product were the best and cheapest. Then you look at what they really offer which is about nothing, unless of course you call a spread sheet something awesome. The kicker is though, is that the software itself looks like a fourteen year old kid wrote the front end of it in visual basic in the early ninties. Someone sat around on crack getting paid a large some of money to provide a gui interface that looks like my cat puked on the carpet while attempting to sell it off as glamour and ease of use. Of course it's easy to use. It has maybe one entire page to it and saves to an excel spreadsheet which is kept in your program files (That's where a lot say they keep the data base file) with the only glamour being it looks like it came from the set of a Tarintino movie after the blood scenes. Well I Take that back, the gui's just a picture of the janitor cleaning up the set with his ass hanging out.
Despite all of this, the awesome tech support should make up for it right? Well, after buying the program you can option in for technical support for a pricey monthly cost to yourself after paying around three hundred to five hundred dollars for the shit stain, I mean software from them in the first place. Then they cry because people pirate their software and even make updates to it that they themselves won't do. The pirate networks support forums are even better then the companies.
Please, if you're going to try to make something useful give it tons of features that don't have an "addon" cost hire someone to make the front look pretty and tell the outsourced workers to learn how to do proper tech support.
Then maybe then, I'd buy your stupid bunk software.
